Burlesque documentaries you need in your life

I published a blog post recently on some great burlesque inspired films for nights when you just want to snuggle down and shut off from the outside world.

While I love a good movie, it’s sometimes nice to delve more info the burlesque archives and understand more about the history.

It’s no secret that one of my big gripes as well is performers starting out that haven’t got a basic grasp on some of the key performers and icons of the industry. It’s super embarrassing when you hear people being interviewed that just haven’t got a basic understanding.

So without further rambling, here are my suggestions for a fun and entertaining ride into the burlesque archives:

*Admittedly these two can be harder to source: I sourced out a copy of Pretty Things this years ago, and while it was a bit of a mission it was worth it. Stripped is a bit of an easier search. If you want first person accounts with some of the icons of our industry, they are essential viewing.
